Rainbow Birdies is a vibrant, quilt-inspired neighbourhood where every colourful block tells its own cheerful story. A lively mix of quaint cottages and mid-century bungalows creates a patchwork of patterns and personality, inviting you to wander from house to house and see what each birdie is up to. In one corner, a musician strums a happy tune; nearby, a gardener tends to blooming flowers, while a cozy knitter adds a handmade touch to their day.

At the heart of the scene, a cutaway home offers a peek inside where a determined little "Flame" birdie practices their speed puzzling skills as they get ready for the USA Jigsaw Nationals! For those familiar, the USA Nationals logo includes a puzzle piece with a flame. With bold colour patterns and playful details throughout, this 500 piece puzzle is as fun to explore as it is to complete.

  • A poster is only included if the box cover says "Poster Included" below our logo.
  • In 2023, our 1000 piece to 275 piece boxes downsized from 10" x 14" x 2.38" to 8.25" x 11.25" x 2.0" and a depth of 3.75" for the 2000 piece. However, until all retailers and our warehouse have completely sold out, there will be a mix of box sizes. Please check for this detail if that matters to you.
  • Pre-2018 we did not include posters with our puzzles. The pre-2018 box frame colour is beige as opposed to green, blue, or red/rust.
  • Modular boxes that are a "square-ish" size of 7.5" x 8.0" x 2.5" do not include posters.

About the Official USAJPA Speed Run

The goal is to complete the Rainbow Birdies 500pc puzzle as fast as you can!

  • Enter as an individual and/or a team of 2, 3 or 4.
  • The puzzle assembly should be recorded and uploaded as a time-lapse video. For multiple attempts, demonstrate that pieces have been completely disassembled and shaken in the box for 5 seconds to ensure ‘like new’ puzzling conditions.
  • Enter as many times as you like! The deadline for submissions will be announced by the USAJPA. It will happen a few weeks in advance of the 2027 USA Jigsaw Nationals, which takes place March 19-21.
  • Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers from each category.
  • Winners will be announced at the 2027 USA Jigsaw Nationals.

1. Complete Rainbow Birdies 500 piece puzzle.
2. Prepare your September Secret Symbol: an egg. Use a real egg, a fake egg, or write the word "egg" on a piece of paper.
3. Place the secret symbol on your completed puzzle & snap a photo of it. 
4. Use the form below to upload your photo and submit your details.

That's it! We'll draw a name from the monthly submissions and notify the winner by email.
